Anyone else going to this? I finally sorted out enough childcare to get me out to it. Will I meet anyone I 'know' from here? It's the 24th of Feb. And the timing ... well, it's the day before my first post-diagnosis-and-in-fact-first-in-5-years JOB INTERVIEW! I feel I see a few glimmers of light on the horizon <little victory dance, that doesn't involve my sore shoulder, and makes me look a bit like a demented gibbon>

Yay!!! mon the interviews!! Good luck when it comes. I lost a job cos of the RA in January 2009 and I was a nervous wreck when I went to the next interview I got after that. But I got the job. Smiling like a lunatic at the interviewers seemed to work! Hahaha! I will be going to the Workwise thingy but at the other end of the country unfortunatly!!! I think theyll be really interesting. Mmmmm, fuzzy.....

Yep, I'm planning to go too if places are still available.
Congratulations on being short listed, and hope the interview goes well.

Hi everybody, I'm hopefully going too next wed. Sorry I haven't got onto the forum much recently. Its slightly Bad Timing for me as tues and wed I'm getting new windows fitted in my flat (that I didn't want cos its costing me £8000) but thats another story! Never been to an RA thing before. Since diagnosed never spoken face to face with someone who has it! So hoping my employers wont mind me leaving early. I'm actually looking for a Rich man so I don't have to work anymore. Maybe they can help me with that too. HaHa! Good Luck with the Interview MerryBerry. Scary stuff. Kind of managed to avoid a proper interview in a long time. Hope to see some of you there. Abbie Xx

hello, both the interview and the workshop were very constructive, however I am knackered out by a poor night's sleep and will come back over the weekend with better feedback than this:)

interview was fine thanks Jean, nice to do one again. haven't heard back from them yet, which is somewhat looong, for these things. i am over-experienced/qualified for the job. think i scared them a bit tbh.
i bought up the RA in interview as i had on the app form and they were lovelya bout it. one of their mums has RA, and she knew where i was coming from, she got why I want to park myself in a quiet corner of academia for a year. the others were worried i'd be bored! they were at the stage of discussing whether i'd want 5 short or 3 long days at one stage. and i said tbh it's not the RA that concerns me about coming back to work, it's the childcare. i'd rather have 3 long days, easier to get nannies in my neck of the woods.
am still very tired today - have had this shoulder pain for a month now. i've got one of those rotator cuff problems, either a tear or calcifying tendon. taking LOTS of pain meds. the actual tear doesn't seem to hurt so much, but the pain is referring up nerck and down elbow. have a steroid jab booked into it MOnday lunchtime. i really hope this helps! how are you jean?

So glad the interview went well Frankie. Did they say when they would let you know? Sorry about the shoulder though - hope the steroid works. I had a good shoulder one. Hope you can get some rest this weekend. Easier said than done when you have kids!
